Cordura Ballistic 1680D PVC
A rational functional material with high strength and waterproof performance
"CORDURA® ballistic" is a material developed by Invista, an American textile company known for its military-grade fabrics. It is woven with the company's abrasion-resistant and durable "66 nylon" yarn, and is distinguished from general "CORDURA® fabric" by its product tag.
What is the high-strength nylon value of 1680D?
"Denier" is a unit that indicates the strength of a fabric, representing the thickness of the yarn. The higher the number, the thicker the yarn, and the greater its weight and strength. While general nylon fabrics are around 420 denier, the 1680 denier used in CORDURA® ballistic boasts approximately four times the strength.
Furthermore, the back of the fabric is treated with PVC (polyvinyl chloride). This adds high waterproof performance to the material. Originally, PVC has a weakness in that it is susceptible to tearing, but by protecting the surface with tough ballistic nylon, an ideal functional material that is "tear-resistant and completely waterproof" has been achieved.
