Vegetable-tanned leather handle
The leather is carefully tanned with vegetable tannins, making it hard, durable, non-stretchy, and resistant to deformation. Vegetable tanned leather retains its natural appearance and develops a beautiful luster the more it is used.
Domestically produced ballistic nylon
"66 nylon" is an ultra-strong thread that is also used in bulletproof vests. This fabric is made of this strong thread woven with a thickness of 2520 denier to create "ballistic nylon," which is approximately six times stronger than regular nylon.
It has excellent durability, including resistance to abrasion, a high melting point, and water-repellent properties, and will protect not only your belongings but the bag itself.
Thick oil-shrunk leather
The sole is made of thick oil-shrunk leather, which is scratch-resistant and has excellent durability due to the shrinkage process that causes the surface of the leather to shrink, increasing its density.
It is made from thick cowhide that has been tanned with full tannin, dyed only with dyes, and soaked in plenty of oil twice, giving it a soft feel.

The metal fitting for the handle had come off, so we got permission from the customer who wanted it repaired. He says he uses it every day for work.
When comparing the entire bag, you can see that the ballistic nylon used as the main fabric has become softer. However, since an update was made three years ago by adding a core around the waist, it is not easy to compare the shape retention.
There is no change in color of the ballistic nylon or fraying of the fabric.
The leather handle is the part that shows the most obvious changes over time.
The after is softer than the before.
The edges are slightly faded and have turned brown.
The handle is stretched, but there are no cracks and it has a beautiful luster.
The vegetable tanned leather on the rim and the oil-shrunk leather on the sole have also faded slightly, turning brown. The sole leather in particular retains the beautiful grain characteristic of shrunk leather, and is softer after compared to the before.
The green inner fabric has been in use for five years, and over time it has developed a richer texture and changed to a more tasteful color.

The repairs this time included replacing the leather handle due to the handle fittings coming off and adding core material to the body.
The handle hardware was not removable so it was replaced with a new one. The leather edging, which had to be removed to add padding to the body, was also replaced.
Adding core material improves shape retention, and replacing the handle gives an even better finish.
